The Process, Beginning to End

The Process

Getting Started On Your Dream Bike

Getting Started On Your Dream Bike

Getting Started On Your Dream Bike

You've decided to get the wheels rolling on your project, congratulations!  We have done hundreds of bikes from all across the country (and a few other places).  We are eager start working with you.

If you've decided on the color, the process is fairly simple (Color selection is usually the most difficult decision). Listed here are the basic steps you need to create the bike that will be uniquely you!

First - Contact Us

Give us a call or send us an email.  Email is recommended for specific details and contact information.

Phone calls are welcome and best to discuss options.  Very few projects are straight forward.  We want you to be comfortable with your decisions.

After you get in touch with us, and we have a good idea of the project, we will furnish you with a price estimate.

Second - Select A Color

Third - Get The Bike Into Our Hands

You will need to go online and pick out the color(s) that you would like to have your bike coated (this may be the hard part).  We have several suppliers listed on our Resources page.

Purchase 1 pound of powder, per color, for a standard frame and fork.  Have it shipped directly to our location.  Be sure to use your last name as the PO# for the order. If you have ANY questions about the powder contact us before you order. We have used many of the powders and know what works and what doesn't.

If you are shipping your bike, size and weight do matter.  Strip your bike down*, shipping us only the parts to be coated, if possible. Pack it in the smallest box possible. Ship with UPS or FedEx (USPS is 3 times as expensive).  If you need a box contact your local bike shop, they will often give you one for free.

Shipping a standard frame and fork  generally runs $15.00 - $25.00 depending on location.

*Your local bike shop can help, as can we, try to keep the size and weight to a minimum.

We will receive the bike, and the powder that your ordered.  After we have completed all of the work that you have requested we will pack the bicycle up for shipping. It usually takes about 3 weeks to process a bike. We will send you an email containing an invoice and letting you know your beautiful bike is complete and ready to come home.

If you dropped off your bike with us locally you can swing by, make payment, ogle over your frame, and go spread the great work that Groody Bros. Bicycle Restoration Project performed!  If you shipped us your bike, we can send you a PayPal invoice for payment, or provide a credit card number. We prefer PayPal since the credit cards charge a larger fee.

Once we receive payment we will ship the bike to you and send you a tracking number.
